About the Scottish Rite The Scottish Rite, commonly referred to as the University of Freemasonry, is an appendant body of Freemasonry for men who have completed the first three degrees can join in order to further their knowledge of the Craft. The focus on morals and ethics help to mold each Mason into a better man, not only for the fraternity but also for his respective community. The Scottish Rite does more than just expand upon the teachings of Freemasonry, it allows the bonds of fellowship and friendship to grow and mature with each new member that chooses to join our ranks. Freemasonry itself has forever been defined as a beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols. Through these symbols, the fraternity strives to mold its members into the men they wish to be and into the men their communities need. Any man that is of sound body and mind, 18 years old or older and holds a belief in a Supreme Being and the Immortality of the soul is eligible to a Freemason in Arkansas.
