Through labor he learns all things. History Immediately following the close of World War I, the nation experienced a period of prosperity. This prosperity made it possible for many men, who were financially unable to do so before, to present their petitions for Masonry and become members of the Craft. Adelphic Lodge No. 509, A.F.& A.M., meeting in its own Temple at 1168 24th Street, in Des Moines, was one of the lodges to experience a rapid growth in membership. Early in 1920 a group of members of this lodge considered the availability of forming a new lodge, because of the increasing growth of membership in Adelphic Lodge. After several preliminary meetings, a meeting was held on October 18, 1920. The minutes recorded as follows: “Meeting of Master Masons in Adelphic Lodge rooms to take preliminary action to organize a new Masonic Lodge.” “Master Masons present: Brothers A.E. Noble, Lafayette Higgins, Sr., R.B. Robertson, C.J. Jackson, T.M. Marshall, T.L. Hollingsworth, M.C. Raft, E.A. Dolge, L. Thomason, R.R. Riggs, Fred G. Mote, and L.H.
