The Lodge began meeting in 1890 and has been meeting continually since. After the Grand Lodge of Maryland moved from downtown Baltimore, Freemasonry in Baltimore all but disappeared from the city. The brothers of Highland Lodge have stayed true to the great city of Baltimore. Our lodge may be the most beautiful in Maryland. In the year 1889, thirteen Master Masons residing in Highland Town (the spelling was changed to Highlandtown when the city annexed the area in 1918) experienced a desire to form a Masonic Lodge. Dispensation was granted October 16, 1889, and charter was granted to Highland Lodge No. 184, A. F. A. M. on May 14, 1890. Here the Lodge met until the fall of 1893 when it was deemed advisable to seek a larger meeting place. A

We are located in the Highlandtown neighborhood of southeast Baltimore, at 310 South Conkling Street. We meet on the second and/or fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7:00PM. We typically meet on both Tuesdays, but the 4th Tuesday meeting will be skipped if there is nothing on the schedule. Contact the Secretary to confirm if there will be a fourth Tuesday meeting. We do not meet in July or August, nor on the fourth Tuesdays in November or December. We dine at 6:00PM in our fellowship hall, and then retire upstairs to our lodge room for the stated communication. If you are a brother interested in visiting, please contact our Secretary to make arrangements. We are a growing and active lodge of men from diverse backgrounds, occupations, and interests, striving to be better men and Masons, and to be a force for good in our city and in the world.
