J. Blan Loflin for a Dispensation to form a Lodge of Research in the State of Oklahoma. It was the stated desire of the petitioners: “to serve Freemasonry in general, and Oklahoma Masonry in particular, by means of collecting historical data and materials, for the study of any and all phases of Masonic teachings, other than the conferral of degrees, and for other good and beneficial purposes usually associated with Research Lodges.” A dispensation was granted by Grand Master Loflin on July 2nd, 1966 and the Lodge was formed and held its first meeting on August 13th, 1966 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. There were fifty-two members and visitors in attendance at this first meeting, which was called to order by the Grand Master.
